A Portrait of John Wayne

By Alvalyn Lundgren 12 months ago

Probably the most iconic of screen cowboys, John Wayne played a breadth of roles. This portrait depicts him as the actor, not the cowboy. The background quote is from his role as J.B. Books in The Shootist (1976), and is a re-statement of Jesus’ exhortation in the New Testatment: Matthew 7.12, which has been popularized as the Golden Rule.
