Sketchbook Demo: Portrait Drawing

Sketchbook Demo: Portrait Drawing

This portrait drawing was developed using a photograph for reference. When I draw, I spend a lot of time looking and analyzing what I see, specifically:

  • Shapes
  • Planes
  • Proportion
  • Position
  • Direction
  • Color

Whether you draw form photographs or from life, the process of observing, thinking and drawing is the same. I hope you find the tutorial helpful. If you have questions, please ask them in the comments section.
